FHA-C Rotary Actuator

A complete FHA-C unit combines a Harmonic Drive strain-wave gear, brushless servo motor and incremental encoder in a compact cylindrical actuator. Its hollow output shaft gives machine designers a protected route for cables, pneumatic tubing or optical paths through the joint axis. The gear stage provides zero-backlash transmission for positioning applications that need high torque within a shallow package.

Four frame sizes—17, 25, 32 and 40—cover different joint loads, with 50:1, 80:1, 100:1, 120:1 and 160:1 reductions available across the ordering matrix. Maximum torque and output speed vary by frame and ratio; the published manual spans 39 to 820 newton-metres at the extrema. FHA-C can operate with Harmonic Drive controls or compatible third-party servo drives, allowing the actuator to be selected around the host machine's motion and communications architecture.
