Flexible Welding Cell

About

About Flexible Welding Cell

JR Automation's Flexible Welding Cell uses a handling robot to retrieve a fixture from a rack and present it to an operator for loading. The robot then positions the loaded fixture at the weld gun. Part changes are made through fixture selection, so the handling sequence supports short production runs across a large component mix.

New product types can be accommodated with additional fixtures. The design reduced the number of fixtures, weld points and weld tips required, while a selected power supply supported different metals and thicknesses. One operator loads the work and the robot carries the heavy fixtures, linking rapid changeover with repeatable positioning at the welding process.
