Power Liftgate Laser Weld Station

About

About Power Liftgate Laser Weld Station

JR Automation's Power Liftgate Laser Weld Station uses a custom LPKF laser system to join actuator components through an outer plastic tube. A servo-and-ball-screw module positions the laser head, and a separate servo rotates the fixture to expose the part's circumference. The selected laser process creates the joint without leaving a visible weld line on the outside of the tube.

The machine can hold two parts at different points in their processing cycles, allowing operations to overlap. Three tooling changes accommodate the specified part variants, and an integrated robot unloads completed work. These handling and process arrangements support the required operator-inclusive cycle of less than 25 seconds.
