MATRIX-1
About
About MATRIX-1
MATRIX-1 is a full-size electric humanoid robot developed by Matrix Robotics for manipulation, data collection and embodied-AI research. Its bipedal body combines in-house actuators with five-fingered hands, tactile sensing and onboard cameras. The hands use force-position control to regulate contact during manipulation, while the body supports coordinated movement and interaction with people and objects.
The platform includes onboard computing for perception and control, with imitation and reinforcement learning used in its development. A custom battery system and autonomous charging base support repeated research sessions. Matrix presents MATRIX-1 as a forthcoming platform while separately offering information about MATRIX-3. MATRIX-1 therefore retains its own prototype identity within the company's development history.
