Sherpa Mecha
About
About Sherpa Mecha
Sherpa Mecha is Ati Robotics' wheeled dual-arm platform for industrial material handling and machine tending. Its extending torso positions the arms between 1.1 and 2 metres in height, with a stated 900-millimetre reach and 12-kilogram handling capacity. Carbon-fibre arms and a modular shoulder, arm and body structure support handling between bins, conveyors, shelves and workstations.
Three-dimensional lidar and camera sensing support autonomous movement around people and obstacles. The platform is designed to combine driving, reaching and handling within a continuous workflow, using Ati's mobile navigation technology beneath the manipulation system. Ati is working with manufacturing partners on custom tooling and software for particular production tasks. Configured projects can include machine tending, material transfer, fastening and inspection support, with availability and pilot programmes discussed around the intended application.
