About

About SkyRanger R70

SkyRanger R70 is a small vertical-take-off unmanned aircraft designed for multi-mission defence and public-safety operations. Its carbon-fibre and magnesium airframe carries IP54 and MIL-STD-810G test claims, with published operation up to 15,000 feet above mean sea level. Teledyne FLIR lists sustained-wind tolerance of 65 kilometres per hour and gust tolerance of 90 kilometres per hour, with a lower limit for take-off.

An open payload interface lets integrators add mission equipment through the Payload Development Kit, which supports payloads up to 3.5 kilograms. Onboard edge processing supports object detection and classification, semi-autonomous flight and operation under degraded GPS or communications. The resulting configuration depends on the selected payload, radio, software and permissions. The aircraft can support reconnaissance, situational awareness and payload delivery, but those mission labels do not by themselves specify the sensor fitted to a particular R70.
