• 2026-10-08 - Contract Award - VideoRay selected for AEVEX-led Navy mine-countermeasure prototype

  The Defender launched and recovered autonomously from an unmanned surface vessel, with operators supervising from a ground control station. Trials covered target investigation, simulated neutralisation and post-action assessment, alongside autonomous vessel transit and stationkeeping. The selection followed a Navy and Defense Innovation Unit challenge in which BlackSea, now AEVEX Maritime Systems, was one of three prize winners.

  Wraith can hold inverted, vertical and fully rolled attitudes while maintaining control. The expeditionary configuration is the first step in a planned spiral-development programme. VideoRay presented Wraith as a new Mission Specialist configuration without publishing separate commercial availability details.

• 2024-11-12 - Demonstration - Greensea IQ and Water Linked test IQNS navigation on VideoRay Defender

  IQNS combined an NVIDIA compute platform, navigation sensors and a fibre-optic gyro in a compact package for smaller ocean robots. Trials under U.S. Navy and Defense Innovation Unit contracts improved long-distance navigation, target search and underwater mapping on the Defender ROV. The integrated system supported automatic target recognition and added auto-calibration and gyro-only operating modes.
