Mesodyne selected for NATO DIANA's 2026 cohort
NATO DIANA selected Mesodyne among 150 companies from 24 Allied countries for its 2026 Challenge Programme.

Evidence notes
- The programme provides contractual funding and access to DIANA accelerator sites and test centres.
- The selection supports development and validation of dual-use technology against an Allied defence and security challenge.
Company context
Mesodyne engineers and manufactures compact thermophotovoltaic generators for portable, silent and long-endurance power. Founded in 2018 from MIT Institute for Soldier Nanotechnologies research, its LightCell converts heat from multiple fuels directly into electricity without a conventional engine. The Somerville company targets small unmanned vehicles, soldier equipment and remote commercial systems where batteries impose severe endurance limits.
