About Unplugged

Unplugged develops contactless power and data interfaces for subsea vehicles, tools and rotating machinery. Its inductive modules span sensor-level power through multi-kilowatt charging, transferring energy across a sealed gap where exposed electrical connectors would corrode, wear or require frequent maintenance.

Subsea docking stations let AUVs recharge and exchange data while remaining underwater, with configurations for fixed, buoy-mounted and mobile or towed deployment. Current systems support torpedo-shaped and flat vehicles, power from 200 watts to 2.5 kilowatts and aggregated data rates up to 10 gigabits per second, with a 25-kilowatt roadmap. Inductive swivels also carry power and communications through continuous rotation for robotic tool changing and harsh industrial equipment.
