About
About Aerobotix
Aerobotix builds cells for sanding, coating and inspection of aircraft, missiles and uncrewed systems. Robot-mounted tools can change automatically between abrasive types or process stages, while lidar and metrology locate large parts whose position varies between fixtures or production cycles.
Painting and coating installations are engineered for classified hazardous environments, combining ventilation, process equipment and robot controls within the required safety architecture. Aerobotix develops the process, tooling, software and production cell together, then supports commissioning and continuing operation rather than delivering only a programmed industrial arm.

- 2026-03-10 - Contract Award - Aerobotix wins $1.2M Air Force SBIR for F-35 robotic scuff sanding
Aerobotix won a $1.2M Direct to Phase II SBIR contract from the U.S. Air Force on March 10, 2026. The award funds development and installation of a Robotic Scuff Sanding System for F-35 Lightning II surface preparation at Hill Air Force Base. The system targets low-observable coating maintenance by automating topcoat removal and surface conditioning before recoating.
Source - 2022-05-20 - Deployment - Aerobotix reaches 40 robotic installations for U.S. missile manufacturing
Aerobotix said defence contractors were using 40 installed systems to support interceptor, cruise, air-to-air and hypersonic missile production. Recent demand included automated testing, scanning and quality operations that create repeatable inspection records and digital-twin data. The milestone showed repeated production deployment beyond a single demonstration or customer programme.
Source - 2021-04-16 - Product Launch - Aerobotix unveils six-robot hypersonic missile production line
The line integrated six industrial robots and a curing booth into a continuous process for complex missile components. Automated shape scanning generated part-specific toolpaths before sanding and application of FIREX RX-2390 thermal-protection coating. Non-contact wet-coating measurement checked thickness during application, targeting the thermal and aerodynamic tolerances required for hypersonic flight.
