AWL Automation is a Dutch systems integrator headquartered in Harderwijk. It engineers turnkey cells and production lines that combine industrial robots, end-of-arm tooling, vision, controls and software, then supports commissioning, ramp-up and lifecycle service. Its applications cover joining and assembly, mixed-product picking and depalletising, palletising, parcel induction and material handling across manufacturing and intralogistics.
The company reports more than 800 employees, over 4,000 robots integrated and 13 locations in six countries. Named systems include ROSI for parcel singulation and RODE for robotic depalletising; current implementations use 3D vision to estimate object pose and guide gripping. AWL also develops machine-control software and integrates automation with external production systems such as MES platforms.

RODE uses an IDS Ensenso X36 3D stereo camera to capture mixed pallet loads and estimate object pose for robotic gripping. The cell combines vision-guided picking with AWL robot integration for automated depalletising of variable cartons. The deployment illustrates AWL’s system-integration role across perception, gripping, robot control and downstream material flow.
