About New Scale Robotics
New Scale Robotics combines automated part handling, dimensional inspection and measurement logging in its Q-Span workstations. A robot moves parts through a sequence of gauges, collecting measurements that would otherwise require an operator to position each item manually. The workstation can incorporate a manufacturer’s existing inspection instruments, including micrometers, thread gauges, bore gauges, air gauges and laser measurement equipment.
Projects begin with the parts and measurement methods a shop already uses. New Scale helps determine which operations to automate and how to meet the required gauge repeatability and reproducibility targets. This allows inspection to be automated incrementally while retaining validated gauging methods. The resulting cells can be reconfigured for different parts and moved to other inspection applications as production needs change.
