About Remora Robotics

Remora Robotics builds autonomous underwater robots that remain on salmon-farm cages to clean and inspect their nets. A belt-driven machine travels around the enclosure each day, using active brushes to prevent biofouling before heavy growth develops. Frequent gentle cleaning preserves water flow through the pen and reduces reliance on episodic high-pressure washing that can stress fish and damage netting.

During each circuit, sensors scan net condition and collect environmental data at different depths. Remora Insight adds cloud monitoring, documentation and continuous hole detection so farmers can follow changes and schedule preventative maintenance. The company manufactures systems in Stavanger and supports deployments through aquaculture service partners including Frøy. It produced its hundredth robot in 2024, had more than 70 units operating at customer sites that November and completed its first international installation in Chile. Commercial operations have since expanded across additional Norwegian production areas.
