Fourier N1
About
About Fourier N1
Fourier N1 is an open-source humanoid platform intended for developers who need access to the robot’s mechanical and software layers. It provides a bipedal body for locomotion, manipulation and learning research while lowering the barrier to modifying control code and hardware interfaces.
Fourier launched N1 in 2025 alongside the open Fourier ActionNet dataset. The product complements the production GR series: N1 emphasises reproducibility and community development, while Fourier’s broader organisation supplies engineering, support and an established international rehabilitation-robotics network.

- Vision as Proprioception: Estimating Humanoid Robot Pose from Video
2026-10-18 - Research Publication - HumanoidPose estimates humanoid joint configurations and root pose from ordinary video using pretrained human-vision features and a kinematics-conditioned decoder. The ETH Zürich team trains across16 synthetic embodiments and reports18–32% lower joint-angle error than its strongest evaluated baselines on three real robot platforms.

2026-02-03 - Research Publication - Humanoid Whole-Body Controllers trained with reinforcement learning (RL) have recently achieved remarkable performance, yet many target a single robot embodiment.
Source - Fourier Aurora SDK
Research Publication - Fourier Aurora provides Python control examples and MuJoCo integration for GR-1P, GR-2, GR-3 and Fourier N1. Version 1.3.0 separates joint commands, robot status and motion interfaces by platform.

Timeline
- EAGLE study transfers control across four humanoids
2026-02-03 - Research Publication - A policy trained in simulation controlled physical Unitree H1, Unitree G1, Booster T1 and Fourier N1 robots without hardware-specific fine-tuning. Hardware demonstrations covered walking, leaning and squatting; a fifth platform, PNDbotics Adam, was included in simulation.
Source - Fourier releases N1 humanoid development resources
2025-04-14 - Product Launch - The initial package included a bill of materials, structural drawings, assembly guidance, control systems and base operating software. The 1.3-metre, 38-kilogram platform was rated for more than two hours of continuous motion, with pricing and assembly options dependent on configuration.
