About Mariner X

Mariner X is a nine-metre uncrewed surface vessel with a 1,200-kilogram payload capacity and fuel capacity supporting missions lasting up to 25 days. A large rear deck, two moonpools and dedicated sensor positions accommodate sonar, water-sampling systems, cargo, winches and AUV or ROV launch equipment.

Maritime Robotics’ Autonomous Navigation System supports remote and autonomous operation, route execution and multi-vessel formations. Radar, cameras and AIS provide situational awareness, with LTE, Starlink and maritime radio options for command and data transfer. The vessel supports offshore survey, environmental monitoring, AUV support and maritime surveillance.

Timeline

  • Maritime Robotics and Skarv demonstrate coordinated USV–AUV mine-countermeasure operations

    2026-10-01 - Demonstration - Mariner X followed the AUV survey track and relayed status, contact reports and retasking to shore. CORAX 600 used sidescan sonar and close-range optical inspection. The exercise demonstration followed earlier joint IXES testing; no commercial order or operational naval deployment is announced.

  • Maritime Robotics and VLIZ unveil Gobelijn research USV

    2024-06-04 - Demonstration - Gobelijn is a customized Maritime Robotics Mariner X built for the Flanders Marine Institute. The vessel was officially presented in Ostend on 30 May 2024 with scientific sensors for water-column and seabed observations. Its launch-and-recovery system can deploy ocean gliders, while the configurable deck supports up to 1,000 kilograms of payload.
