About OS1-128

OS1-128 is the 128-channel configuration of Ouster's mid-range rotating digital LiDAR for autonomous vehicles, mobile robots, industrial automation and mapping. The Rev8 sensor combines a 360-degree horizontal scan with a 44-degree vertical field of view. Native RGB-D colour, calibrated reflectivity and a synchronous IMU provide complementary inputs for perception software.

At 1024 horizontal samples and 10 Hz, Ouster rates detection at 90 metres on a 10-percent-reflective target in 100-klux sunlight. Scan resolution, rotation rate and return mode are configurable, so maximum throughput and range depend on the selected mode. Gigabit Ethernet carries the point cloud to a host computer running the perception stack. The sensor weighs 500 grams without its cap or baseplate and has IP68/IP69K protection with its I/O cable attached. Earlier OS1-128 research configurations, including Rev7, remain distinct from these Rev8 specifications.
