OS1 Lidar Sensor

About

About OS1 Lidar Sensor

OS1 is Ouster’s mid-range digital lidar family, combining a 45-degree vertical field of view with up to 128 channels and approximately 10.4 million points per second. The current sensor provides a stated maximum range of 250 metres and approximately 90 metres on ten-percent-reflective targets.

Each return includes range, signal and reflectivity information, while native-colour functionality can align camera imagery with the three-dimensional point cloud. The cylindrical sensor supports automation, mapping, security, smart infrastructure and autonomous machines through Ouster’s SDK and perception software. Current production is represented by the Rev 8 hardware generation.

  • Ouster signs multi-year OS1 lidar agreement with Fieldin

2023-03-14 - Partnership - A batch of 100 OS1 sensors shipped at the end of 2022; Ouster expected several hundred additional shipments through 2024. Fieldin had deployed dozens of kits and planned more than 100 tractor retrofits in the United States during 2023. OS1 supports vehicle localization, navigation and object detection; driver-out functionality remained subject to local regulations.
