ROBOTO Origin

About

About ROBOTO Origin

ROBOTO Origin is RoboParty's open-source bipedal prototype platform for makers, researchers and educators. It is designed to be assembled, modified and extended, with mechanical designs, circuit schematics, control algorithms and simulation resources forming part of the engineering package. Its modular skeleton uses CNC-machined parts, parallel ankles and offset joints.

The robot is 1.25 metres tall, weighs 34 kilograms and has 23 degrees of freedom. Five-joint arms and six-joint legs support motion research, with different peak torque ratings for the arm and leg actuators. A 48-volt battery supports more than two hours of operation under configuration-dependent conditions. ROS 2, a low-level SDK and manual control provide development interfaces, while an Intel D435i camera and 3D lidar are optional additions.
