About Unitree Dex5-S

Twenty-two motors drive the hand’s 22 joints, including a dedicated little-finger roll axis. Every joint is designed for direct drive and backdrivability with dual encoders, while joint-level impact protection and miniature reducers support repeated training and integration work.

Dex5-S weighs about 620 grams and is rated for a two-kilogram maximum payload or one kilogram continuously. It accepts 15–65 V power and offers Ethernet, USB and high-speed RS-485 configurations; Ethernet or USB control can run at up to 1,000 hertz. The Pro version adds tactile sensing to the shared mechanical platform.
