University of Basel uses Beckhoff controls in MIRACLE II surgical robots
The University of Basel used Beckhoff automation and control technology in its MIRACLE II miniature surgical robots.

Evidence notes
- MIRACLE II is the second phase of a Werner Siemens Foundation-funded programme for robot-assisted laser bone removal planned and supervised in virtual reality.
- The University of Basel team developed the robotic elements around Beckhoff control technology, including TwinCAT 3 Target for Simulink.
- A CX2043 Embedded PC, CX2100 power supply and EtherCAT and TwinSAFE terminals provide the system’s control hardware.
