About Reclamation Factory
Reclamation Factory develops distributed automation for identifying and processing waste plastic close to collection sites. Its systems use sensing and machine intelligence to recognise materials, record their movement and prepare selected streams for reuse or further recycling.
The compact approach is intended for local deployment where transporting mixed low-value plastic to a distant central plant is uneconomic. Software links identification with traceability and process decisions. The Pittsburgh company joined the Robotics Factory accelerator and completed a PGH Lab pilot with the City of Pittsburgh focused on plastic identification and tracking.

The system classifies material from captured acoustic signatures. It targets shredded, crushed, pigmented and remelted plastics that can challenge optical methods. The company opened the technology to pilot projects across new material streams.

The pilot diverted 80% of collected plastic by weight from landfill. Machine-learning models were trained to classify difficult plastic streams to bale specifications.
