Timeline
Events
- 2026-10-08 - Demonstration - Honeywell demonstrates two-aircraft ISR teaming with Shield AI
A scout used onboard cameras and Honeywell’s detection/tracking model to find a target; the second aircraft navigated to it, delivered a payload and returned to base. Both aircraft used Honeywell o480 inertial navigation systems and exchanged target information through Hivemind. The mission followed a July 8 single-aircraft demonstration; Honeywell developed and tested the teaming mission over the next three months.
Source - 2026-09-24 - Demonstration - Honeywell flight-tests Kestrel navigation system on Group 2 drone
Kestrel combines GNSS inputs with Honeywell’s HG3900 MEMS inertial technology for resilient positioning, navigation and timing. The flight programme also demonstrated vision-based navigation and use of low-Earth-orbit satellite signals. Honeywell continues development and plans customer demonstrations in 2027, with initial deliveries scheduled for late that year.

The company launched with more than 36,000 employees and over 10,000 customers worldwide. Honeywell Aerospace is headquartered in Phoenix and supplies aerospace and defence systems.
Source - 2026-06-17 - Product Launch - Honeywell launches Kestrel GNSS/INS navigation system for uncrewed aircraft
Kestrel targets Group 2 and Group 3 UAS, collaborative combat aircraft and loitering munitions. Honeywell says the system is 40% smaller and lighter than comparable navigation products. The company says Kestrel can improve navigation accuracy for uncrewed platforms by up to 80%.
Source - 2026-06-09 - Partnership - Swarm Aero selects Honeywell TPE331 engines for Group 5 UAS
Swarm selected the commercially available Honeywell TPE331 as the powerplant for its large, multi-mission Group 5 uncrewed aircraft. Initial propulsion systems had already been supplied under the contract, and the companies were working together on aircraft design, development, maintenance and operations. Honeywell reported 13,000 TPE331 engines delivered and 122 million flight hours; Swarm is using the established platform to reduce cost and production risk.
Source - 2026-03-31 - Partnership - Honeywell and Odys Aviation create airborne counter-UAS defence solution
Honeywell and Odys Aviation announced a collaboration to deliver an airborne counter-UAS defence solution for critical infrastructure and strategic assets. The system adapts Honeywell SAMURAI autonomous airborne platform for deployment on Odys Aviation long-range Laila UAV. Honeywell said SAMURAI provides a modular counter-UAS architecture incorporating customer-selected sensors and effectors.
