About
About Wolfspeed
Wolfspeed spans silicon-carbide crystal growth, substrates and power semiconductor devices. Its portfolio includes SiC wafers, MOSFETs, Schottky diodes, bare die and power modules designed for high-voltage, high-temperature and high-frequency conversion. In robotic and autonomous equipment, that technology is relevant to efficient motor drives, compact inverters, charging and high-density power supplies rather than sensing or control software.
The company traces its formation to Cree in 1987 and now operates as Wolfspeed, Inc. from Durham, North Carolina. It remains listed on the New York Stock Exchange under WOLF after completing a financial restructuring in 2025. Recipient evidence documents 150 mm SiC wafer agreements with Infineon and, historically, STMicroelectronics, placing Wolfspeed upstream of finished power devices used across industrial systems.
