About Dragoon Technology
Dragoon was founded in Tucson in 2020 by Sean Culbertson, Jason Douglas and Carlos Murphy after their earlier UAS company, Latitude Engineering, was acquired by L3 Technologies. The team focuses on improving the endurance and payload-power economics of small aircraft rather than scaling a conventional battery-only design.
Its architecture combines liquid-fuel energy density with battery-like electrical operation, distributed propulsion and an integrated Aircraft Management Unit. Coriolis has supported NOAA-related beyond-visual-line-of-sight and endurance testing, including simultaneous multi-aircraft operation. The Cinder prototype programme applies the same long-range posture to defence missions and integrates Teledyne FLIR Prism perception software under Project Artemis.
