Evolunar’s POLARIS navigation system combines camera observations, inertial measurements and range information with onboard processing. Its algorithms are designed to estimate movement without preloaded maps or prior knowledge of the area, supporting navigation and spatial referencing of payload data when satellite positioning is unreliable.
The company offers a self-contained module for retrofitting existing vehicles and an embedded version for manufacturers integrating the processing unit and algorithms with their own sensors. Its navigation work also supports LuNaDrone, a rocket-propelled lunar hopper under development for scouting and payload transport after landing. That programme combines visual-inertial navigation with a propulsion system designed for short flights over terrain that a wheeled vehicle may have difficulty crossing.

Evolunar was named in NATO DIANA's 2026 company cohort. The selection provides access to accelerator sites, test centres and allied defence users. The company was selected in an autonomy, maritime, sensing, communications or related dual-use challenge area.
