About Inertial Labs
Inertial Labs develops positioning, orientation and motion-sensing systems for air, land and marine platforms. Its range covers GNSS-aided inertial navigation systems, inertial measurement units, attitude-and-heading references, motion-reference and wave sensors, three-axis accelerometers and assured-positioning products for operation when satellite navigation is degraded.
Single- and dual-antenna systems fuse MEMS or fibre-optic inertial sensors with GNSS, compasses, air data and other aiding inputs to calculate position, velocity, heading, attitude and heave. The RESEPI family integrates navigation with LiDAR, cameras, storage and communications for drone and vehicle mapping, while PCMasterPro converts recorded missions into georeferenced point clouds. Products support surveying, autonomy, defence, hydrography and stabilised payloads.

- 2026-01-29 - Product Launch - Inertial Labs launches IRINS LEO-aided navigation system
IRINS combines inertial navigation, attitude and heading reference, and an Iridium LEO positioning receiver. The system is designed to preserve positioning, navigation and timing across land, air and maritime platforms. VIAVI described IRINS as the first combined product using Inertial Labs navigation and Jackson Labs timing technology.

The APNT product is relevant to UAV and autonomous-system operations in GNSS-contested environments. The launch followed Inertial Labs becoming a VIAVI Solutions company. The product gives Inertial Labs a concrete offering for unmanned aircraft, air mobility or counter-drone operations.

Inertial Labs announced it had officially joined VIAVI Solutions on January 30, 2025. The transaction was valued at an initial 150 million dollars with up to 175 million dollars in contingent consideration. Inertial Labs said the acquisition expanded VIAVI into aerospace, defense, autonomous systems and high-growth PNT markets.

RESEPI combines an inertial navigation system, a single- or dual-antenna GNSS receiver, Linux processing and data-logging software. The E455 provides a removable, open-architecture payload bay at the aircraft’s center of gravity. The planned system targets detailed topographic data collection in challenging terrain, including construction, agriculture and environmental monitoring.
