About Gritt
Gritt combines robotic arms and task attachments with skid steers, forklifts and other equipment already familiar to construction crews. Its software uses observations of materials, completed work and changing site conditions to guide physical tasks and develop a shared picture of the jobsite. Field data from successive deployments feeds further model development.
Utility-scale solar is the first commercial application, with machines assisting crews in repetitive panel-handling and installation work. Burns & McDonnell is evaluating and deploying the technology through a partnership announced in August 2026. Gritt is extending the approach toward concrete, rebar and broader site verification and planning.
