About Schmalz
Schmalz develops vacuum systems that let robots lift flat, porous, delicate or irregular objects without enclosing them in mechanical fingers. Suction cups or larger area grippers contact the workpiece while electric or pneumatic vacuum generators create the pressure differential required to hold it. Valves, switches and sensors monitor vacuum level and confirm whether the grasp is secure.
The portfolio extends from individual cups and ejectors to complete end effectors, layer grippers and manual lifting systems. Quick-change products such as MATCH let collaborative robots exchange tools automatically, while IO-Link components expose operating and diagnostic data to the cell controller. Integrators select the cup material, gripping area, vacuum source and safety reserve around the workpiece, cycle rate and environment, then connect the system to an industrial robot or cobot.
