About Rim Drive Technology
Rim Drive Technology builds electric motors around an open-centre propeller architecture with the rotor and stator integrated into the surrounding ring. Removing a central shaft creates a compact propulsion unit with one primary rotating part and reduced exposure to ropes and fishing nets. The range covers fixed PODs, steerable PODs, outboards, bow and stern thrusters, subsea motors and matched battery systems.
Research, development and production are based in the Netherlands. The company supplies propulsion for crewed and uncrewed craft, including HydroSurv survey vehicles. Recipient evidence identifies a 5 kW unit on the REAV-47 and twin 11 kW steerable POD drives on the 2026 REAV-60. These are exact installed propulsion facts, not generic compatibility claims.
