Toyota Automated Logistics began operating under a unified brand on 1 April 2026, combining Bastian Solutions, viastore and Vanderlande’s warehousing business inside Toyota Industries. The organisation designs and commissions integrated systems rather than a single robot family, joining receiving, storage, picking, packing and outbound workflows through controls and lifecycle support.
Its portfolio covers autonomous vehicles, robotic picking and depalletising, conveyors, sorters, automated storage and retrieval, and warehouse software. Bastian’s legacy engineering contributes systems-integration expertise and technologies including the ULTRA robotic truck-unloading platform, while viastore and Vanderlande add software and large-scale automation capabilities. The profile therefore represents the current operating identity while retaining Bastian Solutions as a former brand alias.

The brownfield installation increased storage capacity by 25% within the existing footprint and uses 18,600 bins with Exacta WCS. AutoStore supplies 99% of picked units, while integrated OTTO Motors AMRs and conveyors move goods through the healthcare-distribution workflow. At peak periods, the installation can deliver up to 10× the legacy throughput, while next-day delivery reaches 96% of Canadians.

AutoStore handles about 75% of the facility’s daily order volume and was designed to present up to 1,800 bins per hour on peak days, while the remaining pick module handles larger items. The site achieved a 150% improvement in pick rates, a 50% reduction in pick-to-pack cycle time and capacity to triple its SKU base; Bastian Solutions integrated the system.

The brownfield system uses 41 R5 robots, 15,847 bins, eight CarouselPorts and four ConveyorPorts at MSC’s distribution operation. MSC manages more than 570,000 SKUs at its Elkhart facility, and AutoStore brings goods to ergonomic workstations to reduce walking, repetitive lifting and manual picking strain. The deployment delivered nearly 40% labour savings, faster and more predictable order processing, and higher throughput without additional space or labour; Bastian Solutions, part of Toyota Automated Logistics, served as integration partner.
