Orca XLUUV

Orca XLUUV is Boeing's extra-large autonomous undersea vehicle for long-range naval missions. Its hybrid system combines batteries with marine diesel generators, supporting monthslong endurance and a stated range up to 6,500 nautical miles. Navigation fuses inertial, Doppler-velocity-log and depth measurements for operation away from continuous human control.

The 15.5-metre vehicle includes a removable 10.4-metre payload section rated for up to eight tons dry. That modular bay allows mission equipment to change without redesigning the complete platform. Operators plan the route, payload objectives and recovery before deployment, while the vehicle executes the assigned undersea mission autonomously and manages its onboard energy and navigation systems.
