Saab Autonomous Ocean Drone
About
About Saab Autonomous Ocean Drone
Saab Autonomous Ocean Drone is a large uncrewed underwater vehicle for long-range naval and subsea missions. Saab presents the platform as a modular system that can carry customer-selected payloads for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, seabed work, object delivery and communications. It is powered by Autonomous Ocean Core, the company’s scalable control architecture for uncrewed surface and subsurface craft.
The vehicle can launch from a pier, surface ship or compatible submarine and may coordinate with other uncrewed or crewed assets. Saab has not published a fixed public specification because size, endurance, range and payload depend on the customer configuration. Operational performance therefore belongs to the delivered vehicle and mission package, including energy, navigation, communications, launch and recovery, payload integration and naval safety requirements.
