C-Worker 5

C-Worker 5 is L3Harris’ diesel-powered autonomous surface vessel for hydrographic survey. The 5.5-metre aluminium craft carries about 40 kilograms of wet-side survey payload, with control electronics housed in a watertight 12U rack. Mission planning covers lines, waypoints, station keeping and geofencing, with optional autonomous route planning and collision avoidance.

At a five-knot survey speed, L3Harris rates endurance at about eight days; at seven knots, about four days. The vessel supports multibeam echosounders, ADCP, sub-bottom profilers and CTD instruments through fixed through-hull, deck or towed arrangements. L3Harris reports deployments in the UK, France, United States and Australia, including more than 15,000 kilometres of survey lines in one operational area.
