Maxlimer

Maxlimer is SEA-KIT's 12-metre X-class uncrewed surface vessel, configured for hydrographic survey and remote ocean-data collection. Operators control and monitor the vessel from a shore centre while mission software follows planned survey lines. Its working capability changes with the installed sonar, sampling gear, communications and launch-and-recovery equipment, so results belong to a specific expedition configuration.

For the 2022 Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai survey, Maxlimer carried a multibeam echo sounder plus a custom winch and frame for plume recorders and a conductivity-temperature-depth instrument. The remotely conducted work included vertical casts and tow-yo sampling inside the caldera, with the operating team thousands of kilometres away. That mission demonstrates prolonged remote survey and water-column sampling, but it does not establish identical endurance or sensing performance for every Maxlimer payload and sea state.
