About Rapid Design Solutions
Rapid Design Solutions designs, builds and installs custom manufacturing cells as well as supplying machine-tending hardware. Its services range from advice and partial integration to complete systems with commissioning and operator training. The company combines robot programming with fixtures, grippers, infeed arrangements and machine interfaces so that loading and unloading become part of a coordinated production sequence.
One two-operation milling installation uses a UR5e with a vacuum gripper and narrow gripping fingers to load a Fanuc Robodrill and turn the part between machining stages. Supporting hardware includes an infeed rack, a movable robot stand and automated vise actuation. That combination illustrates its approach: handling both the robot’s movement and the surrounding mechanical details needed to present, clamp and transfer a workpiece.

- 2025-09-09 - Deployment - Rapid Design actuator enters Metal Integrity machine-tending cell
Metal Integrity automated its existing Kurt workholding with a Rapid Design Solutions CNC vise actuator. The actuator replaced a pneumatic vise that could not hold the target part's required tolerances. The completed OB7 cell raised weekly output from 180 parts to 475 on its first job.
