  Water Linked supplies Doppler velocity logs, 3D imaging sonar, underwater modems and acoustic positioning systems. The deal is valued at NOK 330 million on a cash and debt-free basis. The acquisition expands NORBIT’s maritime, defence and offshore underwater technology offering.

• 2026-06-01 - Demonstration - Water Linked demonstrates Sonar 3D-15 live on Blueye X3

  A Blueye X3 fitted with Sonar 3D-15 mapped ladders, pipes and moving underwater vehicles in the test basin. The live system tracked another Blueye X3 and a BlueROV while displaying Sonar 3D-15 visualisations on a laptop. Attendees also used immersive three-dimensional goggles, combining optical and acoustic views for underwater situational awareness.

  Water Tracking estimates velocity relative to the water column when a DVL cannot obtain seabed bottom lock. The mode uses acoustic reflections approximately 1.5 to 4.5 metres below the instrument to support an inertial-navigation system. The free firmware update covers all DVL A50 and A125 units and is also available on the A100 and A250.

  Sonar 3D-15 streams real-time three-dimensional data into BeeX's onboard autonomy system through the Water Linked API. BeeX uses the data for object detection, tracking and scene understanding around complex subsea structures. The integration supports autonomous inspection in turbid water and reduces repeat deployments for anomaly follow-up.

• 2026-03-03 - Product Launch - Water Linked introduces next-generation DVL A250

  The DVL A250 extends acoustic range to as much as 250 metres while retaining a compact 149-millimetre-diameter form factor. It supports bottom lock at speeds up to 15 metres per second and operation from an altitude of 30 centimetres. Available configurations carry 1,000-metre or 4,000-metre depth ratings for subsea navigation platforms.

• 2024-11-25 - Demonstration - Greensea IQ and Water Linked test autonomous ROV navigation

  Greensea IQ completed field testing of its IQNS edge-processing and navigation system on a VideoRay Defender ROV. For the demonstration, IQNS was integrated with Water Linked’s extended-range DVL A125 to create a stand-alone underwater navigation solution. Trials under a U.S. Navy and Defense Innovation Unit contract reported improved long-distance navigation, target search and underwater mapping, with added auto-calibration and gyro-only modes.

  IQNS combined an NVIDIA compute platform, navigation sensors and a fibre-optic gyro in a compact package for smaller ocean robots. Trials under U.S. Navy and Defense Innovation Unit contracts improved long-distance navigation, target search and underwater mapping on the Defender ROV. The integrated system supported automatic target recognition and added auto-calibration and gyro-only operating modes.

  CORAX uses the compact 3D sonar for close-range seafloor mapping and obstacle-aware navigation. The sensor provides three-dimensional acoustic perception in murky water where optical visibility is limited. The integration combines Skarv's AUV, optical-sensor and data-processing stack with Water Linked acoustic sensing.

  Boxfish integrated the DVL A50 into its control systems for stable position holding during underwater imaging. The Performance model was added to the Boxfish AUV and ARV-i autonomous product line. Boxfish fuses DVL output with other sensor data for navigation, altitude control and close infrastructure inspection.
