About
About BlueBird Aero Systems
BlueBird Aero Systems is an Israeli developer and manufacturer of tactical unmanned aircraft, founded in 2002 and based in Emek Hefer. Its portfolio includes the WanderB and ThunderB hybrid fixed-wing VTOL systems, hydrogen fuel-cell aircraft and loitering munitions. BlueBird supplies aircraft together with ground control, communications and mission-payload integration for defence, homeland security and civilian operators.
The VTOL systems launch and recover in confined areas while using fixed-wing flight for endurance and area coverage. Their mission configurations support day and thermal observation, tactical mapping, border monitoring and maritime operations. Customer procurement includes aircraft, payloads and support configured for the mission; the fuel-cell WanderB extends endurance through an upgrade option. Israel Aerospace Industries holds a 50% stake, while BlueBird continues to operate under its own name and management.
