About GYS

GYS connects its welding power sources to Universal Robots through the GYS URCap MIG application and SAM-1N communication module. The software separates a job into approach motion, the welding sequence and return to a parking position. Within the welding sequence, an operator sets the path, process conditions and robot speed, with support for hardfacing and multilayer work.

The interface works with compatible NEOPULSE equipment and uses Modbus TCP communication through the SAM-1N. GYS offers cobot packages containing the power source, torch, torch support and communication module, with cooling equipment available as an option. The arrangement allows a fabricator to combine the welding process hardware with a selected robot and fixture, and to retain a manual torch option for touch-up work.

  • 2022-03-17 - Product Launch - GYS URCap MIG joins Universal Robots ecosystem

Universal Robots announced GYS URCap MIG integration into UR+ on March 17, 2022. The software connects GYS robotic MIG/MAG power sources and SAM-1N communications with Universal Robots cobots. A three-step workflow lets welders teach repetitive paths and process settings without conventional robot programming.
