About Nami Surgical
Nami Surgical is developing miniaturised ultrasonic scalpels for robot-assisted surgery. Its transducer and instrument architecture is intended to place ultrasonic cutting and sealing capability in confined anatomy where conventional hand-held designs are too large or inflexible for compact robotic instruments.
The University of Glasgow spin-out is building a modular driving system that controls energy delivery at the surgical site and a patented miniaturised scalpel developed with robotic surgeons. Initial target procedures span urology, gynaecology and cardiology. The platform remained in development in 2026, with the company preparing cadaver studies and subsequent in-vivo validation before commercial clinical use.
