PROCEPT BioRobotics manufactures the AquaBeam and HYDROS surgical robotic systems for Aquablation treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia. The procedure combines real-time ultrasound and cystoscopy with surgeon-defined treatment planning, then uses a robotically controlled, heat-free waterjet to remove targeted prostate tissue.
HYDROS adds FirstAssist AI image recognition to identify anatomy and suggest a personalised plan, alongside integrated digital imaging and guided operating-room workflow. The system is FDA-cleared and CE-marked, entered international commercial rollout in 2026 and uses a single-use handpiece for each procedure. PROCEPT reported approximately 12,200 US Aquablation procedures during the first quarter of 2026 while continuing clinical research in BPH and investigational prostate-cancer applications.
