Scallog’s Boby robots travel beneath mobile storage shelves, lift them and bring the required inventory to a picking station. The operator remains in one work area while the control software sequences shelves and orders, reducing walking and separating storage movement from manual picking.
The modular system can begin with a limited number of robots, shelves and stations and expand as demand changes. It can also operate on mezzanines and within existing warehouse buildings, giving retailers and logistics operators a goods-to-person solution without installing a fixed automated storage crane.

- 2025-03-17 - Capability - Scallog selects igus bearings for BOBY shelf robot
BOBY uses lubrication-free iglide plain bearings in its scissor-joint lifting mechanism. The mechanism is designed to lift warehouse shelves weighing up to 1,325 lb. The supplier release identifies Scallog, the bearing family and the installed robot platform.

SPAN supported optimization and automation of distribution centers in the region. The agreement expanded Scallog goods-to-person robotics through a regional channel partner. The partnership connects the company to a named customer, supplier, platform or go-to-market channel.

People still select and place individual items unless a separate picking system is added.
