Stingray Shuttle

About

About Stingray Shuttle

Stingray is a rail-guided warehouse shuttle system for moving cartons, totes and trays through high-density storage. TGW rates the system for up to 1,500 load carriers per hour in each aisle. Redundant shuttle operation supports continued material flow during individual-unit interruptions, and the design can operate in freezer environments down to approximately −30 degrees Celsius.

Self-healing control detects poorly positioned load carriers and realigns them automatically, reducing manual intervention inside the storage structure. Condition monitoring and predictive-maintenance functions expose equipment status to operators. Regenerative braking returns half of recovered energy to the network for use by other shuttles, alongside supercapacitors and energy-saving motion modes. Stingray also serves as the storage layer within TGW's FlashPick goods-to-person fulfilment architecture.

  • TGW wins Reader’s Choice Awards for RovoFlex and Stingray Shuttle

2024-12-10 - Award - TGW Logistics won the Piece Picking Robotics category with RovoFlex and the Automated Storage category with its Stingray Shuttle. RovoFlex combines hybrid manual and automatic picking with AI-based process learning and throughput of up to 1,000 picks per hour. Stingray Shuttle supports throughput of up to 1,500 load carriers per hour per aisle and uses regenerative braking with supercapacitors to reduce energy consumption.
