THE600

About

About THE600

Shibaura Machine’s THE600, distributed by TM Robotics, is a four-axis SCARA robot for high-speed assembly, inspection and component transfer. Its 600-millimetre arm accepts a maximum payload of 12 kilograms and the 31-kilogram mechanism repeats horizontal positions to ±0.01 millimetres. A published 0.31-second cycle applies to Shibaura Machine’s defined motion with a two-kilogram test load.

THE600 connects to the TS5000 controller for program execution and coordination with surrounding equipment. Ethernet communication, external-device control, conveyor tracking and vision-assisted tracking allow integrators to synchronise the robot with feeders, moving lines and inspection stations. Tooling, part inertia and path length affect the achievable application cycle, and specifications from other THE-series arm lengths do not transfer to this exact 600-millimetre configuration.

  • Infinifeed makes UK live debut with THE600 SCARA

2024-06-18 - Demonstration - The feeder used two parallel conveyors moving in opposite directions to recirculate parts. A camera identified component positions so the THE600 could pick and place parts presented in different orientations. The live demonstration ran at Automation UK in Coventry on June 18 and 19.

  • THE600 enters North America with fast-cycle SCARA demonstrations

2019-04-08 - Product Launch - The THE600 extended Shibaura Machines THE range for high-speed assembly and material-handling tasks. TM Robotics said THE models delivered twice the speed and 60% more payload than competing SCARAs in the same price range. The booth also demonstrated other SCARA and six-axis robots plus the TSAssist programming tool.
