About
About Splash
Splash develops compact autonomous surface vessels for maritime security, patrol, logistics and payload delivery. Typhoon is a small operational craft that can move supplies or carry sensors without a crew, while the larger Tempest extends range, payload and sea-going capability for naval missions.
Autonomous navigation and remote command support individual or coordinated operations, with mission bays accepting surveillance, communications or cargo equipment. Typhoon conducted resupply work during the U.S.-led RIMPAC exercise, and Tempest is being prepared for U.S. Navy testing. Splash develops the vessels and mission software around low-cost distributed maritime operations.

Timeline
Events
- 2026-07-22 - Funding - Splash raises $4.2M for autonomous maritime systems
Ubiquity Ventures led the $4.2 million round. Splash planned to scale its Typhoon and Tempest vessel programmes and integrated autonomy stack. The financing announcement accompanied evidence of more than 10,000 autonomous nautical miles across three continents in 2026.
Source - 2026-07-21 - Deployment - Splash uses Typhoon for U.S. Navy resupply at RIMPAC 2026
The Naval Postgraduate School and FLEETWERX integrated autonomous maritime delivery with expeditionary manufacturing. The end-to-end workflow manufactured, transported, assembled and employed components in less than 24 hours. The trial tested remote vessel operation and communications with Navy ships in an operational fleet exercise.
Source - 2026-06-15 - Product Launch - Splash unveils the Tempest autonomous drone boat
Tempest is specified for a 1,500 lb payload, 35 kt top speed and 300 nmi range. The vessel supports autonomous beach landings and uses Splash C2 across the Typhoon and Tempest fleet. Splash priced the base configuration below $100,000 and designed the platform for mass manufacture.
Source - 2025-02-20 - Product Launch - Splash introduces autonomous patrol boats for national-security missions
The platform combines vessel hardware, autonomy software, sensors and onboard computing developed as an integrated system. Early testing covered more than 100 autonomous miles in San Francisco Bay without human input. The modular vessels support payloads including survey sonar and deployable aerial systems.
