  The procedure used an animal model at the preclinical stage. A console in Seoul transmitted the surgeon’s movements to the robot arms in Shanghai. The hospital identified patient safety, clinical validation and regulatory arrangements as requirements before cross-border human use.

A high-speed fiber connection with 5G backup delivered 30 millisecond one-way latency between London and Gibraltar.   Toumai doubled from more than 100 orders in October 2025 to more than 200 by February 2026. Twelve markets had placed more than five orders each, including 14 cumulative orders in India and more than 10 in Brazil. The platform had supported nearly 800 remote procedures across more than 20 countries, and dozens of hospitals had exceeded 100 cases per centre.
