About Nio Robotics
Nio Robotics develops Aru, a polymorphic industrial robot for skilled work inside confined steel structures. Its modular body can operate as a magnetic rover, elongated snake, quadruped or stable tripod, allowing it to pass through hatches wider than 450 millimetres, climb difficult access routes and position tools on walls or overhead surfaces.
Aru uses interchangeable wrist payloads for live laser decoating and airless painting, with welding under development and inspection supported through vision and non-destructive-testing probes. Nio targets hydroelectric penstocks and gates, ship construction and maintenance, tanks, offshore structures and refinery vessels, keeping workers away from respirators, scaffolding and hazardous confined spaces.
