About Rollo Robotics
Rollo’s patrol robot travels on one large external wheel while an internal flywheel and control system maintain balance and produce steering motion. The resulting body is narrower than a conventional four-wheel patrol platform and can move through pedestrian routes and constrained facilities. The company states a top speed of about 30 km/h, operating time of up to eight hours and a mass of approximately 45 kg.
Cameras and other security sensors provide the patrol feed, while 4G, 5G or Wi-Fi connections send alerts and video to a remote operator. A speaker and microphone allow staff to communicate with people near the robot without dispatching a guard immediately. The system is intended to follow autonomous patrol routes, identify events and escalate them to a control centre, giving industrial, urban and facility operators a mobile observation point under remote human control.
