About Perceptive Technologies
Perceptive combines handheld optical coherence tomography with AI-assisted diagnosis and robotic treatment planning. The imaging system captures three-dimensional structures beneath the visible tooth surface and around the gumline, allowing clinicians to identify decay and define the geometry required for a restorative procedure.
Its robotic platform is being developed to execute treatments such as crown preparation and fillings from the approved plan, using controlled cutting and patient-motion tracking to maintain the intended boundary. Perceptive has demonstrated procedures on patients outside the United States and is pursuing regulatory development; the system remains a clinical-development platform rather than a generally available dental product.
