About Mantis Robotics
Mantis Robotics develops fenceless industrial arms and embedded safety technology for work beside people. SafetyCore combines proprietary range sensors, 3D spatial awareness and adaptive motion planning so a robot can detect moving objects, alter its path or speed and maintain productive operation in a shared workspace.
The six-axis MR-1 carries five kilograms over a 900-millimetre reach, reaches composite speeds above ten metres per second and is certified to ISO 10218-1 and ISO 13849-1. Mantis Studio provides digital-twin setup, collision-free path generation and no-code workflow tools for kitting, handling and bin picking. The planned MR-X extends the architecture to a dual-arm format for more complex manufacturing and logistics tasks.

SGS Fimko certified the MR-1 to ISO 10218-1 industrial-robot safety and ISO 13849-1 functional-safety requirements. All 47 embedded safety functions were certified to Performance Level d. Mantis said the certified MR-1 could operate at up to 10 m/s alongside people without perimeter fencing.

MR-1 combined real-time motion planning, 360-degree spatial awareness and arm speeds up to 10 m/s. Mantis introduced SafetyCore as an OEM safety platform for manipulators and mobile robots. The system dynamically compensates for robot motion rather than relying on fixed external safety sensors.

The MR-1 demonstration began with Hannover Messe on March 31, 2025. The robot performed ultra-fast tray pick-and-place without external safety sensors or perimeter fencing. Mantis used the exhibit to show real-time barrier-free interaction between people and a high-speed industrial arm.
