About
About Dufour Aerospace
Aero-200 uses a tilting wing carrying several electric propellers for vertical take-off and landing. After climbing, the complete wing rotates into the horizontal position and the aircraft cruises on fixed-wing lift. The unmanned platform is designed for payloads around 20 kg and missions extending to approximately 200 km, depending on configuration.
Hybrid-electric propulsion provides the energy required for longer operations, while Dufour develops the airframe, flight-control system and transition logic internally. Customers can configure the payload bay for cargo, public safety, medical logistics or remote sensing. Aero-200 remains in flight-test and demonstration work, with production preparation progressing alongside customer and partner programmes.

Timeline
Events
- 2026-07-10 - Demonstration - Dufour Aerospace demonstrates 20 kg payload over 200 km
The aircraft carried a 20 kg payload over a 200 km mission profile. The test exercised Dufour's tilt-wing platform in a logistics-relevant payload and range configuration. The milestone advances the company's commercial long-range cargo programme.
Source - 2026-05-21 - Demonstration - Dufour and Volatus complete remote Aero-30 flight from operations control centre
Dufour Aerospace integrated its platform into the Volatus Operations Control Centre in Canada to support remote flight operations. Volatus conducted the first remotely operated flight from the control centre using the Aero-30 platform. The test advanced Dufour and Volatus work on scalable BVLOS operations and runway-independent logistics.
Source - 2026-01-27 - Partnership - Volatus advances Dufour partnership for runway-independent cargo operations
Volatus provided an update on its Dufour Aerospace partnership to develop runway-independent cargo capabilities. The collaboration moved toward hands-on capability development, including a simulator installed at Volatus' Toronto facility. The work targets Arctic, defense, government logistics, commercial remote operations, critical infrastructure, and emergency-response use cases.
Source - 2025-02-04 - Partnership - Volatus and Dufour Aerospace sign strategic teaming agreement for cargo, surveillance and mapping missions
Volatus and Dufour Aerospace signed a strategic teaming agreement to deploy Dufour's Aero2 drone for cargo, surveillance, inspection, and mapping missions. The partnership pairs Dufour's VTOL aircraft with Volatus' aerial operations, training, and commercialization capabilities. The agreement targets drone logistics and remote operations in commercial, public-sector, and infrastructure environments.
Source - 2025-01-28 - Demonstration - Dufour completes Aero2 hybrid-electric transition flight campaign
Dufour Aerospace completed a flight-test campaign with an in-house hybrid-electric system for the Aero2 drone. The aircraft flew vertical takeoff, forward flight and return transition using the hybrid system. The milestone advanced Dufour's tilt-wing cargo drone toward longer-range uncrewed logistics missions.
Source - 2024-09-30 - Commercial Order - Dufour Aerospace and Areion renew partnership with commitment to purchase 40 Aero2 drones
Dufour Aerospace and Areion renewed their partnership around the Aero2 tilt-wing drone. The agreement includes a commitment to purchase 40 Aero2 drones, with an option for 100 additional aircraft. Areion is the renamed Spright operating entity, so the event carries forward Spright's medical-drone delivery lane.
Source - 2024-02-28 - Partnership - RIEGL and Dufour partner on Swiss Alps UAV LiDAR trials
Dufour supplied its AeroMini and Aero2 uncrewed aircraft platforms for the multi-month test programme. RIEGL supplied the laser scanners and supported their integration with the aircraft. BSF Swissphoto assessed data and commercial workflows while SLF checked data quality for applied-science use cases.
Source - 2023-09-11 - Partnership - Dufour Aerospace selects Volz actuators for Aero2 cargo UAS
Volz supplies the fully redundant DA 26-D for flight-control surfaces and the compact DA 15-T fly-by-wire throttle actuator. The DA 26-D duplicates motors, control and communications electronics and power supply, while its position sensor uses a three-channel voting design. Dufour designed Aero2 for medium- and long-range critical cargo missions carrying payloads up to 40 kilograms.
